cooking class
Eleven of the UIC students signed up for one of the cooking classes offered at Dante. We learned how to make an entire Italian dinner from scratch from a true Italian chef. This lesson not only allowed us to sharpen our skills in the kitchen, but it also helped us further our language skills as the chef only spoke Italian. We all managed to learn enough to make our own pasta, pesto, tomato sauce, roasted potatoes, creamed spinach, veal alla pizzaiola, and dessert. To top the experience off, we ate our delicious creations on a terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside. We were a happy (and very full) bunch.
