about

I am a twenty-nine-year-old undergrad student at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  This summer I spent nine weeks studying and traveling all over Italy.  I studied Italian language, history, and art at the Dante Alighieri School in Siena for six weeks and explored the beautiful county on my own for the remainder of my trip.  I not only made wonderful and unexpected friendships in Siena, but I also grew tremendously as a student, and a citizen of the world.  This blog was partially written during my time abroad in my journal and published upon my return.  I hope to express the indescribable with my photographs while helping the narrative along with some stories.

You will also find good information about the Dante Alighieri School, getting around tuscany and the rest of Italy, and my favorite places to eat in Siena.

This trip would not have been possible without the generosity of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, the UIC Honors College, and the UIC Study Abroad Office. This blog has been created to encourage other students, especially those who think it is not possible, to explore study abroad and apply for scholarships such as the Gilman.

Ciao!
